Liberiaβs Minister of Foreign Affairs, Her Excellency Sara Beysolow Nyanti, delivered a warm and forward-looking address at a diplomatic reception commemorating the National Day of the Republic of Cameroon. The event, hosted at the EJS Ministerial Complex in Monrovia, brought together government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and friends of Cameroon to mark the countryβs 53rd National Unity Day. In her remarks, Foreign Minister Nyanti extended heartfelt congratulations to the government and people of Cameroon on behalf of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. and the Liberian people. She commended Cameroonβs efforts in preserving national unity and promoting regional peace and security.
βCameroonβs National Day reminds us of the value of unity, dialogue, and national cohesion,β she said. βLiberia salutes the resilience of the Cameroonian people and their pursuit of peace and development despite the challenges they face.β Foreign Minister Nyanti emphasized the historic and growing ties between Liberia and Cameroon, noting areas of shared interest such as regional integration, education, trade, and peacekeeping. She further pledged Liberiaβs continued collaboration with Cameroon through the African Union and other multilateral platforms to advance mutual goals on the continent. βWe are committed to strengthening our bilateral relationship, especially in the areas of economic cooperation and cultural exchange,β she added. βOur partnership must reflect the aspirations of our people and the future we want for Africa, we have the Bassa tribe in both countries.β
In response, the Ambassador of Cameroon accredited to Monrovia, His Excellency Bengβyela Augustine Gang, expressed appreciation for Liberiaβs solidarity and reiterated Cameroonβs commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation. Ambassador Gang highlighted the long-standing relations between the two nations and acknowledged Liberiaβs support in various regional and continental initiatives. βCameroon recognizes Liberia as a key partner in West-Central African cooperation,β he stated. βTogether, we can build bridges of peace, development, and shared prosperity.β He noted the importance of education and youth empowerment in the countriesβ cooperation agenda and expressed optimism about future collaborations in agriculture, trade, and technical exchange. The celebration concluded with a reception showcasing Cameroonian cuisine and music, underscoring the spirit of unity and friendship that defines the diplomatic ties between the two nations.
