The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Liberia has taken note of information circulating on social media, reportedly originating from the Liberia Immigration Services (LIS), indicating that the Government of the Republic of Liberia through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Government of Indonesia have signed a “visa waiver” agreement for holders of diplomatic and service passports.
The Ministry wishes to clarify that no such agreement has been signed or concluded between the Governments of Liberia and Indonesia at this time.
The Ministry further confirms that discussions are ongoing between the Governments of Liberia and Indonesia regarding a proposed visa waiver arrangement for diplomatic and service passport holders.
The public will be duly informed through the appropriate official channels once the discussion have been concluded and any agreement has been formally signed and entered into effect.
