Liberia and Guinea Reaffirm Commitments to Boost Regional Transport Cooperation.

Monrovia, May 10, 2025 — In a major stride toward enhancing regional transport integration, Liberia’s Minister of Transport, Hon. Sirleaf Ralph Tyler, and his Guinean counterpart, Hon. Felix Lamah, have reaffirmed their countries’ commitment to strengthening bilateral and regional transport systems across West Africa.
The high-level meeting took place on May 8, 2025, at the Ministry of Transport in Monrovia, where Minister Tyler officially welcomed the Guinean delegation. In his remarks as host, Minister Tyler expressed Liberia’s steadfast readiness to collaborate with all West African nations to improve land, sea, and air transport links for the benefit of regional development and trade.
“Liberia is forever ready to work with her West African counterparts to improve land, sea, and air transports across the West African region,” Minister Tyler declared. He emphasized the strategic importance of regional integration in transportation to unlock economic opportunities, enhance mobility, and foster unity among ECOWAS member states.
On behalf of the Government of Liberia, Minister Tyler also expressed deep appreciation for the visit by Minister Lamah and reaffirmed Liberia’s willingness to strengthen bilateral ties with Guinea through shared infrastructure projects, joint policy formulation, and information exchange.
For his part, Guinean Transport Minister Hon. Felix Lamah thanked the Liberian government and people for the warm hospitality extended to his delegation. He praised the leadership of Minister Tyler and pledged Guinea’s commitment to working closely with Liberia to develop stronger, harmonized transport policies that will benefit both nations and the region at large.
“This visit is a clear signal of our shared commitment to building better transportation systems for our people,” Minister Lamah stated. “Guinea remains willing to deepen cooperation with Liberia as we jointly work to make transport safer, more efficient, and more accessible.”
