General Services Agency Investigates Former Police Chief Vehicle Ownership Claim

Liberia’s Information Minister, Jerolinmek Matthew Piah, says the General Services Agency (GSA) is investigating former Police Chief, Patrick Sudue’s claim of ownership to a Special Utility Vehicle impounded yesterday in the ongoing assets recovery and properties retrieval exercise.

“The matter is now with the GSA. When the investigation is concluded and the determination made on the status of the vehicle, the action(s) thereof will be communicated to the public.  But, If no wrong doing is determined, the car will be returned to the former Police Director; and if it is also determined that the car is being possessed illegally, the appropriate action will be taken”, Minister Piah said.

The GSA is the state-owned assets management agency which is part of the joint state, private sector and civil society actors’ taskforce – purposely set up by the President of Liberia, H. E. Joseph N. Boakai – to recover all stolen state fixed and liquid assets in the possession of former Government employees and officials.
