The Maryland detachment of the Liberia National Police (LNP) plans to intensify community policing in an attempt to augment its protection of life and property in the county in 2015.

County Police Commander David Walker told the Liberia News Agency at the weekend that the exercise is necessary because it will also help to enhance the performance of officers assigned in county.

He noted that the commitment of officers assigned in the county was crucial in reducing the crime rate during the past year, urging them to exhibit even higher dedication to duty in 2015.

Meanwhile, Police Commander Walker has disclosed the current construction of a police depot in Glosaken, Barobo Statutory District in the county by the Government of Liberia.

He said when completed in about four months, the depot will be the first of its kind in the area.
