ROBERTSPORT, July 22 (LINA) -The Collaborative Management Association (CMA) in Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County, has received funding for a micro-finance loan scheme worth US$30,000 to help members upgrade their businesses.

This was disclosed recently by CMA Secretary-General John Adams at the second general assembly of the association in Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County.
He said the loan was provided by the World Bank and placed in four categories, including fish processors, fish traders, fish mongers and others who are in the fishing industry.
He said before disbursement of the loan, CMA management will provide financial management training to would-be recipients to enable them manage the funds properly.
He added that the training will also provide an opportunity to those in the fishing industry to participate in the decision-making process.
Mr. Adams observed that many fish sellers are not handling fish professionally because they lack the basic skills to do so.
Adams said during the training, the fishermen will be educated on how to preserve fish that have not reached consumption stage.
