The Management of Ecobank-Liberia Monday evening honored its outgoing Managing Director Mr. Kola Adeleke for his contributions to the growth and development of the bank.

Mr. Adeleke served as Manager for the bank from February 2010 to February 2015.

In his farewell speech at the Monrovia City Hall, Mr. Adeleke said he has learned lot since coming to Liberia.

He said over the last five years, his administration made positive contributions to the growth and development of Ecobank-Liberia as well as the banking industry here.

Mr. Adeleke pointed out that Africans owed Africa the responsibility of development and economic growth.

He expressed the need for Africans including investment partners on the continent to collaborate effort that will ensure that Africa moves to the next level in terms of development.

The outgoing Ecobank-Liberia chief urged Africans to drop self-interest by rising up to solving the challenges of poverty because doing so will bring pride to Africa and Africans.

He said it is also important for Africans to commit themselves to the growth and development of Africa.

He commanded the Central Bank of Liberia for the support given Ecobank during his tenure.

For his part, incoming Managing Director Gilles Guerard lauded outgoing Manager Mr. Adeleke for the job well done.

Mr. Guerard said he will continue from where Mr. Adeleke stopped and will improve on it.

He promised that the bank will do it best to contribute to the economy of Liberia and will focus on financial inclusion and the development of the capital market.

He expressed hope of having a cordial relationship with employees and partners of the bank.
